Hello, my name is María de la Luz Torres. I am 36 years old. I am a proud Latina Birth Doula. I speak Spanish and English therefore I am bilingual. I am originally from Mexico City and have lived here in Portland Oregon for 18 years. I am a wife and mother of five wonderful children. My favorite pastime, aside from being with family and enjoying the summer, has always been helping others and being around babies and families. That was why I decided to study and get my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Where I had the opportunity to learn more. about the world of babies and their development. At the same time, it helped educate me on how to be a better mother and person. My dreams always went further and that is why I decided to become a birth doula. I am by nature very attached to my customs and values, therefore I respect all types of religion, customs and ideology. I am here to provide you with informational, physical and emotional help during your pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum process. I will do my best, so that you have a beautiful experience during this beautiful process of becoming a mother.

Soy originaria de la ciudad de México y desde hace 18 años vivo aquí en Portland Oregon. Soy esposa y mamá de cinco maravillosos hijos. Mi pasatiempo favorito aparte de estar con mi familia, disfrutar el verano, también ha sido ayudar a los demás y estar rodeada de bebés y otras familias. Fue por eso que decidí estudiar la carrera de Early Childhood Education, donde tuve la oportunidad de aprender más acerca del mundo de los bebés y su desarrollo. A la misma vez me ayudó a educarme a como ser una mejor mamá y persona. Mi sueños siempre fueron más allá y fue por eso que decidí convertirme en birth doula. Soy por naturaleza muy apegada a mis costumbres y valores, por lo tanto respeto todo tipo de religión, costumbre e ideología. Estoy aquí para brindarte ayuda informativa, física y emocionalmente durante tu proceso de embarazo, parto y postparto.
