Meet & Hire Lillian
Hi Future CDA Family!
My name is Lillian Green, and I am a Black queer cisgender woman. I am a Certified Birth Doula, Certified Full-Spectrum Lactation Educator, Birth Educator, Community Health Worker, and auntie of 20+ niblings (The number is correct. I am 1 of 10 siblings ☺️). I was born and raised in the Portland Metro area. You can find me on the dance floor, if I am not working in the community. I spent the first 15 years of my professional career in education and equitable policy development. I believe that my life’s mission is to serve children and families. I do this work through culturally specific, relevant, and congruent practices.
In 2024, I started my formal birthwork training as a full-spectrum doula. I am completing additional training to become a full-spectrum lactation educator, childbirth educator, and abortion doula with specializations in Black, Queer, and Teen parents.
As a doula, I am a non-clinical support person. A doula does not give medical advice, perform medical procedures, or interpret/make any medical diagnosis. My role is to provide helpful resources to you and your family, facilitate a reflective and
non-judgmental space for listening and conversations, and support in helping you engage in self-advocacy while echoing your voice in medical and non-medical spaces to support your requests and needs. I am not here to overshadow your voice but to
enhance and support your voice as you seek the support and care that is unique and special to you in this process. I wanted to be a trusted member of your birth team by sharing evidence-based resources and techniques throughout the prenatal period, providing support and resources through the birth and postpartum planning process, and providing emotional support for you and your partner(s) through a culturally specific, relevant, and congruent lens.
My goals are to support you in achieving the birthing process you want, reinforce your informed decisions, and build the birthing environment that brings you the most joy. I am here to walk beside you in this process and remind you that you hold
the autonomy and decision-making power in this process!
