Hi Future CDA Family!

I’m Janelle, a holistic Full Circle doula of color happily supporting families of all kinds in the Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR metro areas. As a Full Circle doula, I am passionate about education when it comes to pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum, where I provide evidence-based information to help you make informed decisions about your care. 

My primary focus is to give you the tools to achieve the birth and postpartum experience you desire in a positive and compassionate way while supporting you and your family throughout the entire childbearing year and beyond. I believe my passion, nurturing approach, and experience, especially as a mixed race woman, allow me to help other women and their families in so many unique ways.

I have attended a handful of doula trainings including Shafia Monroe Consulting Full Circle Doula & Birth Companion, Mother Tree, and H.E.R.B.A.L. I am also a trained Placenta Specialist, and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). I offer traditional postpartum healing techniques with the us of herbs such as rosemary and comfrey, the laying of hands, traditional belly binding, baby wearing, bone closing, placenta medicine, breastfeeding education and support as well as nutrition guidance throughout pregnancy and postpartum.

I like to think that I’ve always been a doula and I just wasn’t aware that there was a name for it until I was pregnant with my second child. Attending my first birth at the age of 8, I sat right at the end of the bed eagerly watching my sister emerge, my mother made it look so easy and beautiful. It was an experience that only intensified my passion for all things birth related and I knew that I belonged in the birth world.
