Idara Ette
THW/Medicaid Doula (pending) & Private Pay
Idara’s doula practice was inspired by her mission to become an advocate and her purpose in life is to radiate; love, happiness and joy. She became a doula because she has a deep passion and devotion for supporting families during the childbearing years. Fundamentally Idara’s believes that every birthing person deserves to be supported emotionally and physically before, during and after the childbirth process.
Idara’s calm and supportive nature has proven to be a true asset when supporting families. Idara has additional training as a postpartum doula and lactation educator. She enjoys using music as a tool to support birthing families.
Although Idara was born and raised in Portland, Oregon her parents immigrated from Nigeria in the 90’s as a young newly married couple. Her mothers soon became pregnant and was deeply impacted by her experience as a newly expectant mother in a place where she did not speak the language and had no support system. This is one of the reasons Idara feels called to her work as doula.
Idara was very active in athletics and music as she was growing up. At 9 years old she began playing the viola and never looked back. Music has been a huge source of healing for Idara. Playing in the orchestra taught her how powerful music was and she was grateful for the warm, calming sensation it brought to her spirit.
Idara is an active volunteer in her community and at her church. Idara enjoys doing research and broadening her knowledge base on lactation and childbirth. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family and her two beloved kitties.
